Family Office and Private Wealth Services in Cyprus: How LCK Works

One coordinated team for structure, tax, residency, investments and succession, for families, founders and people making Cyprus their home.

Family Office & Private Wealth Services in Cyprus

Private wealth rarely arrives as a single question. A family that built a business over thirty years wants to know who runs it next. A founder who has just sold wants to know where the proceeds should sit, and who should keep an eye on them. A family moving to Cyprus needs residence permits, a bank account, the right tax status and somewhere to live, ideally in that order.

Each of those questions usually has its own adviser: a lawyer for the trust, an accountant for the companies, a bank for the investments, a consultant for the permits. Each may do good work. The problems tend to appear in the gaps between them, where nobody is responsible for how the pieces fit together.

LCK’s private wealth service is built to close those gaps. This article explains who we work with, what the service covers and how an engagement runs.

IN SHORT

LCK provides family office, structuring, tax, relocation, wealth consulting and succession services to private clients in Cyprus. One team coordinates the work, so that each decision is made with the others in view.

Who we work with

Our private clients tend to fall into three groups. Each arrives with a different first question.

Cypriot business families

Owners of established businesses thinking about governance, continuity and the next generation.

“How do we keep the business and the family together?”

Founders after a sale

Entrepreneurs who have sold, or are diversifying, and now hold wealth outside their business.

“Where should this sit, and who should oversee it?”

Families relocating to Cyprus

Individuals and families making Cyprus their base, often with assets in several countries.

“What do we need to settle before we arrive?”

Family office services in Cyprus

A family office is less a building than a way of organising a family’s affairs. It is the one place where the family’s companies, investments, property and plans are seen together and decided on together.

For more than 30 years, LCK has supported families in building family offices and corporate bases in Cyprus, and in putting in place the legal, tax and compliance groundwork they rest on. The work covers:

  • Governance: how decisions are made, who makes them and how the wider family is kept informed.

  • Business continuity and succession planning for the family’s operating businesses.

  • Next-generation transition: preparing the next generation for ownership, management roles or oversight.

  • Asset protection: holding assets in structures that protect them from avoidable risks.

  • Family office deal flow: support when the family invests in, buys or sells businesses.

Not every family needs a dedicated family office. For many, the same discipline can be achieved with a well-designed holding structure and a regular review. Part of our role is telling you which one fits.

What our private wealth services cover

Beyond the family office, the service is organised around four questions clients most often bring us.

Moving to Cyprus

Setting up in Cyprus takes you from planning and choosing a legal structure through to finding offices and staff. For families, relocation support covers pre-arrival planning, housing, residency compliance, private banking, personal taxation, transport and healthcare.

Immigration services cover work and residence permits, including applications to the Business Facilitation Unit for companies employing third-country nationals, temporary residence for family members, permanent residence for investors and senior executives, and registration of EU nationals. One point of contact manages the process from start to finish.

Structuring and running your affairs

Corporate administration starts with an operating model built around your needs, then advice on compliance and tax, then running it: company administration, accounting records, banking and treasury support.

Tax planning for private businesses and family offices looks at how investments, businesses and operations affect your overall tax position, so that a decision in one area does not create avoidable tax in another. The 2026 tax reform changed corporate tax, dividend tax and the rules on company residence, so many existing structures are worth a fresh look.

Overseeing your investments

Wealth consulting takes an independent approach to your wealth and investments. We help families set clear rules for how their money is invested, and hold the people investing it to those rules. That includes:

  • designing or reviewing an Investment Governance Statement that reflects your risk and return profile;

  • selecting, monitoring and evaluating investment managers;

  • consolidated wealth reporting across banks, managers and companies;

  • treasury support and counterparty credit risk assessment.

Of these, consolidated reporting is often the most valuable. Many families hold accounts with several banks and managers, each reporting in its own format. Seeing everything in one place is usually the first time anyone sees the true total.

Passing it on

Succession and estate planning covers Cyprus trusts and Cyprus International Trusts, including documentation and set-up, as well as wills and estate planning. We also advise on holding, using, gifting or disposing of property, intellectual property and liquid assets. Succession planning works best when it starts while the founder is still running the business, not when the handover is already due.

How an engagement works

  1. A first conversation. We listen to where you are, what you own and what you want to achieve.

  2. A review. We map what already exists: companies, assets, residence, existing advisers and documents.

  3. A plan. We define the structure and operating model that fit, and advise on the tax and compliance that come with it.

  4. Implementation. We set it up and, where you want us to, run it.

  5. Regular review. Laws change and families change. We revisit the plan when either does.

Why one coordinated team matters

Most problems in private wealth are not caused by poor advice. They are caused by good advice given in isolation. Three examples we see often:

  • A trust set up for succession that no longer fits after the family moves country and its tax residence changes.

  • Investments reported by three banks in three formats, so nobody sees the family’s total exposure to a single market or counterparty.

  • A company restructured to save tax, without anyone asking what it means for the next generation’s ownership.

None of these is a failure of expertise. Each is a failure of coordination.

Questions to ask any private wealth adviser in Cyprus

Whoever you choose to work with, these five questions are worth asking at the start:

  1. Who coordinates the advice, and who is accountable if the pieces do not fit?

  2. How are you paid, and do you receive anything from the products or managers you recommend?

  3. How will you report to me, and how often?

  4. What happens to my plan when the law changes?

  5. Which other advisers will you need to involve, and how will you work with them?

Clear answers to these questions say more about an adviser than any brochure.
